How it works
Battlepad is a launchpad on Solana where a coin can only be born with a rival. Two coins, one pot, and a bell every fifteen minutes. This page is the whole rulebook, and the diagrams in it move.
Two coins, one pot
You cannot launch one coin on Battlepad. You launch two, named together, and they go live at the same moment. Each coin trades on its own Raydium LaunchLab bonding curve and graduates to a Raydium pool on its own. They are only tied by the battle.
One side is copper, the other teal, everywhere on this site. Neither starts with an advantage: both are created in the same transaction with the same curve, and the creator's opening buy is the same amount on both. Both are standard StonkFun launches, so they show up and trade there too.
Rounds
A battle runs in fifteen-minute rounds, counted from the second it launched. Rounds run back to back with no end date, for as long as the coins trade.
- Market cap at the bell
- Copper 60.3
- Teal 66.7
- Average over the round, dotted
- Copper 58.0
- Teal 46.9
A round is won by the side with the higher average market cap over those fifteen minutes. Not the last price, the average. A spike in the final seconds barely moves it. An exact tie rolls the pot into the next round.
Where the money comes from
Every trade on either coin pays 1.25% in fees: 0.25% to Raydium and 1% to StonkFun.
StonkFun sends half of its part, 0.5% of the trade, to the coin's creator. For a battle coin that creator is the battle's own fee wallet, so the creator share of both coins becomes the pot.
pays 0.1250 SOL in fees, 1.25 percent
and the pot's 0.0500 SOL is divided when the round ends
Whoever launches a battle earns nothing from it. Each round, what has arrived in the pot splits ninety percent to holders of the winning coin and ten percent to the treasury. The split is fixed for the life of the battle.
The winning side's holders receive the fees generated by both coins. Losing side's trading pays the winners.
Who gets paid
The striped part is cancelled by what you hold on the other side.
- Your weight is your smallest balance
- Balances are sampled every minute. Your share of a round is the smallest amount you held the whole time, so buying mid-round only counts from the next round.
- Both sides cancel out
- If you hold both coins, only your excess on the winning side counts. This applies to the creator's equal opening buy too, which nets to zero.
- A minimum stake
- You need at least $20 of the winning coin, net of anything you hold on the other side, for the whole round.
- Not everyone is a holder
- Pools, vaults, the fee wallets, the treasury and smart-contract wallets are excluded from every payout.
Getting paid
There is nothing to claim. After each round your share is sent straight to your wallet in SOL, and the Rewards page shows what you have earned and every payment.
Small amounts add up first: a payment goes out once you are owed at least 0.00005 SOL. The network cost of sending rewards comes out of the pot.
Creators
- Both sides named up front
- Names, tickers, images and the story are set before anything goes live. Coins cannot be deleted once created.
- An equal opening buy
- You buy the same amount of each coin right after they are created, capped at five percent of each curve.
- No launch fee
- You pay network rent, about 0.06 SOL, plus your opening buy. Battlepad takes nothing at launch, and you earn no creator fee: it all goes to the pot.
- Moderation
- Offensive names are rejected at launch. Anyone can report a battle, and reported battles can be hidden from this site. The coins stay on-chain.
Trust
The coins, their curves and their liquidity live on StonkFun and Raydium. Battlepad cannot touch them, and the losing side never loses anything.
The pot is different, and you should know how it works. StonkFunforwards the creator fees to two wallets Battlepad runs for each battle, and a keeper service pays them out every round. Those wallets only ever hold fees that have not been paid out yet, a round or two at most, but for that short time you are trusting Battlepad to pay correctly.
You can check that it does. Each battle lists its fee wallets and every payout transaction, and every reward is a plain SOL transfer anyone can read on a block explorer.
